My Affiliate Journal - Goal $50,000 - 12 Months or Less

This is going to be my affiliate journal to help keep me motivated, and in turn help motivate others.

My goal is to earn a net profit of $50,000 in one year or less. This will cover all my expenses and then some for one whole year.

I plan on using an array tactics throughout the year to meet this goal. I do believe that it is a high goal, but one that is achievable no doubt.

    I started on this yesterday.

    Day 1
1.I submitted two articles to ezine that are awaiting approval.
2.I setup a blogger for a paydotcom product that converts well.
3.I dugg and made a squidoo lens for that blog
4.I also submitted one article using a submission system. (This will be more for backlinks than anything else.)

    Total Expenses:$0
    Net Profit:$0

Good luck with your goal, I don't know what are array tactics but it looks like you planned it and put some thoughts into it, I'm subscribing to this thread more than anything else.

I'll be using clickbank and paydotcom. This is just a motivational journal for myself and others. There is no reason for me to fake anything. I'm trying to sell my site on sitepoint for my article website because I want to make money by marketing my own articles than writing for others if that is what you were wondering about. I just thought it was important to say and I'm taking my signature off these posts so no one thinks that. I'll try to post some pics if I do make some sales just to show my results.

Anyways now that that is out of the way. I wanted to post an update on my Day 2 work as it happens.

The Clickbank product I'm selling has a mid level gravity so I'm making it my 1st priority.
The paydotcom product I'm selling has a high gravity so I'm making that my 2nd priority.

I'm going to be targeting high competition keywords for the clickbank product that get a lot of searches. I'll continue working on those keywords until I get the #1 or #2 position for each keyword.

I found that article base doesn't have do-follow links which I'm not so happy about. So I'll be submitting my main articles to ezine and go articles for sales. The others I'm not going to track because they are more for SEO and don't get near the traffic as these two monster article directories. I'm still waiting for the ezine articles to be accepted.

So I have 6 articles submitted to Ezine for review and that's all it's letting me because I'd done 4 articles unrelated before.
I have 1 article waiting to submit to Ezine.

    Day 2
    1. I chose another product to sell, this time off of Clickbank.
    2. I had a domain already that fit the niche so I created a landing page. Since I already had the domain for an unrelated reason I'm not counting it as an expense for this project.
    3. I submitted 4 more articles to ezine and go articles (2 to articlebase before finding out about it)
    4. Submitted those same articles using a submission system for backlinks.
    5. Dugg my landing page.
    6. Made squidoo lens for my landing page.
    7. Added two articles to my landing page site with adsense incorporated in just the article sections. (Hey maybe I'll get an extra dollar or something from that.)

Well not too much right now still waiting for the articles to get reviewed on Ezine so I can submit more. I'm thinking of opening another account to submit more.

Again I'll be posting stuff on here as I do for Day 3 so I remember.
So far I've gotten 14 hops on my clickbank account. All of the articles point to my landing page so I'll at least know they come from there. I've also decided I'm not going to be promoting the paydotcom product at least for the time being. I want to focus on this niche I'm doing currently until I get some decent sales coming in.

    Day 3
    1. I decided to change up my landing page to be a review page. I also decided to add two other products to the page. I figured I may get more sales this way and they are related to the same niche.
    2. I added two more articles to the landing page website.
    3. I dugg the articles and remaining pages.
    4. I stumbled landing page and articles.
    5. Did a reddit for landing page.

I think it's a smart move, to do a page for a review of 2 or 3 products and giving some advice and prompting users to check for themselves the different products pages. That's way you give them "the 3 best options out there" and they'll be faced with a choice to make, not weither or not to buy the product of a landing page, but which one of the best 3 products to buy.

Yeah that is the same thing I was thinking. Each one of the products could help someone in different ways so I figured why limit myself to one product.

    Day 4
1.Well its been a slow day as I wait for the articles to all be approved. At the end 4 of my articles went live today with 1 being flagged. They said it had a general problem and I'd have to contact them to find out. Kind of retarded in my opinion, but I sent them an email so I can find out what my mystery problem is. After my last one goes up I'll be applying for the basic plus membership so I'll keep my fingers crossed for that.
    2. Other than that I put some more touchups on my landing page and worked on another site unrelated to this affiliate campaign I'm working on. I am making some money in other campaigns of mine, but I want to earn $50,000 straight from this affiliate campaign I started so I'm going to keep strong and pop out 25 or 10 more articles depending on what Ezine allows me.
    3. I also tried looking at some of my competition for my keywords and tried posting on their comment boxes if they had them. Not much luck with this. I'm going to check out the top ranked for one of my most competitive keywords and mirror every back-link of theirs I can.

are you submitting multiple articles to ezine for the same landing page?

I didn't know that was allowed.

Are you doing it all under the same account? How similar are the subjects of each article? Are they all like:

    Blue Widgets are the Best
    blah blah blah
    more at bluewidgets.com

    ?

Or are you dividing them up so they're about different things but then having them all point to the same landing page?

Yes that's the whole point and yes it is allowed. I do the topics on a range of things and some are similar in different ways.

    Day 5
It's been pretty busy for me. I just sold a website of mine and made a nice income off of it so I've been dealing with that stuff. I had one more Ezine article accepted today and the others are getting some decent views. My view to click ration is about 1/10 right now, which I want to improve on. I have one article in particular that's doing really well so I want to mimic what I did with that. I also decided to just delete the 1 problem article because it was on the other niche I'm not targeting right now. I also got approved for 10 more articles, but no upgrade. Since Ezine doesn't accept articles during weekends I'll be writing my next ten and submitting them all Sunday night hopefully.

I can't wait to get the next ten submitted because hopefully then I'll see my first sale!...Hopefully even this weekend with the articles I've got now.

I was not aware that you could do that. Thanks for the idea!

Last question: do you do each article from the same account? Or do you create a different account for each article (even tho they all point to the same money site)?

btw I'm following this thread. It will be very cool if you keep with it. I've seen some similar threads in the past where they stop posting after a week or two. I think you will learn a lot if you keep with it.

Don't just waste that article that EZA flagged. Send it to another article directory.

You can create different accounts, but I wanted to just keep it with one to keep it more organized.

I've got another project going on also with my brother. We finally raised the starting capital to get it going so I'll be having to put a lot of my time into that. So this campaign will be on the back burner so to speak, but I'll try to keep it going as much as I can.

    Day 8
Added two more articles to Ezine. No sales yet. I also changed so my links redirect to the landing page. I've been getting about a 15% CTR rate, and decent hops. The problem is no sales. I've been getting hops from other sources as well. The product says it has about a 2% conversion rate so I should be getting a sale every 50 hops, but that's not the case as I've learned.

Cool thread man, just make sure you do not put it too far on the "Back Burner" and allow it to fade out!

I will keep up with your progress as I use similar methods. I have found that on a rough average and being conservative, you can expect about 40 hops a month from each article... That means that concidering you have done your keyword research properly, and you are promoting a merchant site with the industry average conversion of about 1%, you can make 4 sales a month from each batch of 10 articles submitted to ezinearticles

are you using tinyurl to link from your EZA article to the item you're promoting? Or do you link to your website and then do a redirect from there?
