You should read the other threads before posting it here.

Page rank is basically the worth of a site and is only accumulated through the number and quality of the backlinks.

You cannot see your 'real' page rank which is the value Google uses as a very minor ranking factor in their ranking algorithm. These 'real' page rank values are not 1-10 values... They can be huge numbers like 1,234,151,234,151. The 'real' page ranks for your URLs are being updated constantly.

However, once every 3-4 months they will map the 'real' PR for the URLs in their index to the 0-10 PR value that Oranges is talking about using some logrithmic scale known only to Google, and publish it as a PR Update so that the updated values can be seen in the Google Toolbar. If you want to see your PR you can install Googles toolbar and enable the Page Rank under Google Toolbar Options/Tools/Page Rank.

But you need to beware... Understand that the minute Google issues the toolbar PR update (last one was around the 1st of April) it is already several weeks out of date... and that for the next 3-4 months it will be getting even more and more out of date. So it is basically worthless as any kind of real SEO measurement. It's nice to check on it once every 3-4 months just to get a feel for how you're progressing but other than that it is worthless.

You are MUCH better off concentrating on and tracking how you rank in the SERPs for your targeted keyword phrases and how much traffic you are getting. These are much more measurable and much more meaningful/useful in determining how your SEO efforts are progressing.

I have PR0 websites which are on a first position on a selected keyword where websites with PR6 are on 3-4-5-6 position. So PR is in the SEO archives :)

Not true... It's one of 200+ factors used to determine how you rank at Google for a particular keyword phrase... and it carries VERY little weight in comparison to many of the other factors.

This is a common misconception perpetuated by either 1) people who don't understand what PR is, how it's calculated, and how it's used in the ranking algorithm or 2) those selling links on their site where they want you to THINK page rank actually means something so they can charge you very much inflated prices for a link on a PR3,4,5,6,7, etc. page that will do you little, if any, more good than a link on a PR0 page for 1/10th the price.

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm used by the Google Internet search engine that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references. The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is also called the PageRank of E and denoted by PR(E).

The name "PageRank" is a trademark of Google, and the PageRank process has been patented (U.S. Patent 6,285,999). However, the patent is assigned to Stanford University and not to Google. Google has exclusive license rights on the patent from Stanford University. The university received 1.8 million shares of Google in exchange for use of the patent; the[IMG] shares were sold in 2005 for $336 million.[1][2]

In Simple words, PageRank is primarily determined by how many other web pages are linking into you. Google considers this kind of inbound a link, a vote of confidence. But, here’s the trick: Not all inbound links are created equal. Web pages with more credibility that link to you have more “value” to your PageRank than those with less credibility.
