Affiliate and Craigslist

Anyone using craigslist to advertise affiliate link. I would love to know some tips. I heard of an idea from someone here I think. I will go through it because I did make 2 1.50 leads from it so someone might be able to improve it.

I started out using a Gmail account with autoresponder. Then posted on craigslist saying I was moving out of town and had a subway giftcard someone could have if they picked it up. Then when they emailed the Gmail, it responded saying I just gave it away but I really just got it for free at "affiliate link...". It was that simple I had the basic post and edited and posted in three cities. They all got flagged quickly which sucks though. Used a free Subway giftcard email submit link. People complained because you have to do other offers instead of giftcard. Anyway to get around this?

Anyone have any other ways they use Craigslist to earn???

I think CL does not allow direct affiliate links posting in their ad.

However, I think you can build up a site which has affiliate links there and promote the site there on CL. You can use an image for your site name, not just type the URL in your ad. Be careful to be banned. :)

Had an affiliate who did a lot of sales via Craigslist several years ago. He just used a title, product image and description to sell furniture. We ended the program due to the merchant.

Be very careful when promoting sites with affiliate links on CL.

Not only will they ban your URL, but Craigslist has been known to email or even call your advertisers and tell them you're spamming their site... which will get you quickly kicked out of their program.

There are ways around it. Check out

It's worth the money if you want to make serious cash.

Create squeeze pages with smart autoresponders. Let your big back end do the work...not your fingers!

Put a youtube video on a page and put a banner for your product above the video. Promote the video instead of the product.

I heard that many people earn a lot from CL. Some said it is spam. Judge yourself...
