    My website is like a space for blogs. I want people to post their blogs here. How can i promote my website in such a way that i can convince people to post their blogs at it?

    Do you have a blog of your own? Possibly advertise on it.

    Contact various blog owners, ask them to submit their blog to your site.

    You can also as previously suggested offer your services at forums.

    There are a number of ways, it is not just one magic pill and presto.
    1. Link exchanges - with others in similar field to you.
    2. Register your url with search engines - so people searching can find your site
    3. Try and get as many backlinks as possible.

    All this takes time but is worth it at the end.

    add to directories paid/free, your choice.like what webdivx and the others said,add incentives like maybe freebies.if its free, i think bloggers wouldn't mind listing their blogs,you just have to make it noticeble.
