Does it matter if you start building a bunch of backlinks before optimizing your SEO?

Or do these things go hand in hand.

I like to have my on site SEO in good order first so that when my sites get indexed everything looks great to the search engines.

Then I will start building one way quality backlinks. Of course there are always tweaks you can make to your on page SEO but building backlinks should be a daily exercise.

First thing in link building process is optimizing the page. Then only you can move to link building. You should pass grade 1 to sit for grade 2.

Personally I don't think it's a huge issue if you start building backlinks first, but if you want to be deep linking to your pages, I think you should have your pages optimized first - for the sake of clarity if nothing else.

First concentrate in "on-page optimization". Then go for quality link building.

If your site is not ready or good doing off page will be waste of time in my opinion

"A well begun is a half done" holds true for Search engine optimization. Means it would be better for you to optimize your website first and then start link building. So that your webpage can support your link building efforts for SEO.

link building doesn't only give you backlinks, it also let search engine bots crawl your site to gather info about your site. therefore it would be wise and effective if you work on your onpage optimization first before link building so that you can get full advange from your link building campaign

I like to keep them seperate. If you do both at the same time, be careful of hitting an over-optimization filter.

I'd say get the page SEO done first.......THEN work on the links.

Reason: you want the Meta Tags & Content to have the proper KW that you will use in the Link Anchor Text.

I would say first decide which keywords you want to optimize first, but it doesn't hurt to get backlinks to make your domain name stronger.

First of all you have to do the on-page optimization works correctly and then start your off-page optimization works. This only gives the good results.

If i understand what you mean, i will say building link is part of optimising for SE. But if you mean building links before on page optimization, then i will say on page first!

The basics should be right at first. So one needs to start with SEO. And then backlinks. Of course one can modify the keywords etc afterwards, but it is better if you do it at the very onset.
