The value of .info domains

    Hi,

I keep seeing sites advertised on here and other places that are .info sites. I would personally never dream of buying a .info site as that just screams of spam to me, but obviously other people don't hold the same views.

What is the general consensus on .info domains then? Worth it or just a waste of money and time?

A .info domain is not really for spam. It is a new TLD although now kind of old and hence people have been given out for a lower range. People think that a .info website can be used for spaming and doing some non-sense with it.

But thats not right. Any website with information, like a blog or a small website like a hosting company can choose thing domain as they provide information to the public to help the public with the services.

Before the .info domains where much more expensive then it is right now, although the days will change within a year. A .info domain might be much worthy.

    Just a message to all..
Dont consider .info domains as a small or a "spam" domain. It is merely used for information. it is just due to the low cost that people are using it for those purposes and due to the immature phishers and hackers. It will surely get a better position in future.

.com .net websites are valued much higher.

Due to spammers and hackers using them, they have really been devalued (esp. because of their low cost)

I only ever really consider .com or .co.uk depending on the audience location.
