Should you vote in the elections in India?

April 30 is the Voting Day in Mumbai, Thane, and some other parts of Maharashtra and few other states in India. I am sure many of us now agree that today’s India symbolizes YOUTH and so are today’s politicians - well, would-be politicians. I was equally excited at the thought that I will be voting for the first time from Thane (Maharashtra) constituency. However, as the V-Day is nearing, my anxiety, confusion, and dilemma is increasing.

The most important question is: Should I Vote? What will I gain, and how real / feasible are the gains?

I have discussed more @ it here: Should you vote in this elections?. Tell me what do you think? Your opinions may help me arrive at a better decision. Comment here as well as on my blog to help people like me...

I am a bit surprised as well as little sad at your question. The more correct question should have been...'Who do you think should I vote for?'

Voting is your fundamental right and by not exercising the same, you are not helping your country get a good government.
It is very disheartening that only 50% of the Indian population caste their vote and the sad part is that out of this 50%, the party gaining the majority gets only 20% of the votes, which simply means, we let people run our country who are supported by not more than 10% of our population! :(

Hence, throw away the dilemma and definitely caste your vote!

Definately going to vote without fail. Without voting we don't have any right to asking questions to our politicians  Everyone needs to vote IMO.

    DON.

Yup...I am going to vote....for the first time.....got my voter's card just a few days back.

Actually, I don't think there is a need for me to vote....the BJP candidate is sure to win in our constituency...:D.

However, I want to know how this whole process works and so I will be going this time.

Of course every citizen must vote when it is required in every country. It is an obligation.
