If you're talking about traffic you get from google, still it has no effect on your site's PR.

While I agree that there is no correlation between PR and SERP, there are obvious overlapping factors of the two in regards mainly to links.

It's very possible to increase in SERP through more links, more allinanchor, etc. but not to the point to increase your PR but still get better positioning in Google. At the same time, I've seen PR6+ sites that get crap for traffic .... I'll take a PR4 getting thousands of visitors a day over a PR6 with no traffic everytime! Of course, I'd like to have my cake and eat it too, so both would be great :p

    PR IS USELESS unless.....

    1. Your selling your website
    2. Your selling your domain
    3. Your Selling text links
    4. Your trading text links

and even then its only important because so many people think it will affect how the site will rank in the search engines.

You have some reciprocal links it seems and google might devaluate some of those.

PR is not king. PR does not effect serps directly. If a site has PR 0 but it is generating sales better than a site which has PR 6-7 but not generating a sale.

There is no doubt that PR has significant impact on SERPS. Getting links to high PR sites, especially if they are relevant will boost rankings significantly.

They guy asks if any other person saw his PR decreasing but his traffic suddenly increasing, and all you guys do is say that PR has nothing to do with traffic.

1 of my sites was nr11 in the SERPs with PR0 now it got PR2 and went down to nr35 or someting, so it does not seem to be of much use.

This is interesting. I have seen a few reports of increased traffic since the update. This does confuse as I am another proponent of there being little to no value of PR on SERPs.

The only other update last week was the BL Export (back link). This could certainly affect rankings with all the Dig Daddy linking rules fully in place.

Any thoughts on increased traffic reports from people?

It's all academic anyway. With an update Google are just showing us what they've been working from for up to the last 3 months. With an increase in PR now you've already seen the effects in the SERPS - the same with backlinks. It's just old data.
