Personally I think yahoo prefers aged content more than backlinks and href texts, but those help too. Don't hold me too this or anything but it took a lot longer to gain rank in Yahoo but like the rankings up top rarely change when I look at it but I've not changed my seo or anything for ages. When I tinkered with it all the time and was obsessed with PR and such I found my rankings suffered.

Set it and forget it seems to be good for Yahoo from my experience.

Yahoo! is without doubt one of the best known brands on the internet. Many people mistakenly categorize the Yahoo! Directory as a search engine, although it does have a search engine that searches the directory.

I found keywords in the domain can be a large factor. I saw someone that said meta tags don't matter, that is not correct. From simply changing my meta tags I have moved from page 11 to page 1 within a week. This held true with Google also. An example is "used computer games", by simplifying my title and description tags I moved to page 1 in both Yahoo and Google that I currently have no anchor text with that term. Sometimes it seems neither one follow the well known rules of SEO.

Yahoo is just a bit different from Google. I think that yahoo is all about age of site and amount of links. Quality of links seems to be less of a priority with Yahoo then with Google but they are pretty similar overall.

Yahoo still puts value into the domain name. I heard Google is almost ignoring that.

Yahoo Slurp ignores the nofollow attribute from what I have heard.

IMHO, classical SEO should do: original content, web site pages optimizing and link building.

All Basic SEO methods work.To some I think yahoo react very fast Anchor text in websites with links to you and Anchor text of the links in your website.Keword density.Good kewords no more than 4-5 + domain name with some of your keywords and a few links from directories can shoot you page on top in yahoo in two weeks time(you need good content too!)

Yeah realistically they're both just search engines, they value the same things for indexing.

Well , depends on the niche , but yahoo its more for the line "if you have more and valued backlinks you are higher then others" , google is more complicated.

Once your site is well ranked in google, usually it'll have same fate on Yahoo. To me, I just concentrate on optimization and links building for ranking in google, and it perform well in yahoo as well.
