I was wondering if there is some some of formula for calculating the cost of a domain name?

Thanks for sharing the site but I thing it doesnt calculate properly, it gives much more than is the real price of the site in the markets.

No offense, but these services don't really work at all. It would be nice if they did, but I tried a few sample sites and the valuations were way off.

Generally, you can value a domain name on an earnings multiple (if it has traffic) or based on the potential use of the domain. Vodka.com has plenty of real potential (I believe it sold for $1 million a couple years back) but many of the domains owned around here don't have much or any value. If you post your domain I'll give you an honest assessment of value.

Those valuation scripts seem like a neat idea, but they really don't do anything useful.

You can value a domain base on the age, back links and popularity of the word that you use on your keyword. Example of word is Obama.com.
