    Hi,

    On my blog running on Wordpress I'm using a custom theme and on the "read more" tag on my blog posts it appears like this:

    I'm just wondering how can you edit this, for example changing the colour/font size etc?

    Thanks for any help

    It's in one of the theme files, I think index.php, or single.php. You will have to scroll and hunt for it. It will look something like this:

    <li class="bottom"><a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/xxxxxxxx/<?php echo $wp_smooth_cat_box_1; ?>/"><?php _e("Read more from this category"); ?></a></li>

    In my current theme it's in index2.php, but most themes don't have that.

    I change the text all the time, but I suppose you could ad an image in there as well, I never tried it.
    Basic HTML to change the color of the text may not work, as it may be subject to what the settings are for link color in the CSS file.
    It all depends on how the theme is coded.

    Not knowing the theme, you have to play with it for a second, but that should point you in the right direction.

    Just take a look in your style.css on your active wordpress themes' folder.

    Because your "read more link" is in the a.more-link div, Find:
    #post-index .post-meta .post-content a.more-link {
    	color: #660000;
    	text-decoration: underline;
    }
    Code (markup):
    You can change the color (in hex) with your desired color. Or even, add styles like font-family, remove the underline text decoration, etc.

    p.s sorry for my bad english

    Edit your style.css file under wp-content/themes/<nameoftheme>/

    I have the exact same question, I'll try my css file, but I'd actaully rather have a semi large image instead of just the small text. How would I do this?

    My url is http://hothawaiiexoticgirls.com (NSFW) No nudity of any kind, just girls in bikinis, but I'd rather not get anyone in trouble :)

    Sorry to bump up an old thread but I'm still having problems with this (only got round to trying to fix it).

    I've found the single.php file and it contains the following line of code:

    <?php the_content("...read more &rarr;;"); ?>

    However on my site the more button says this:
    …click here to read more →

    And I've tried editing the ...read more &rarr section to something else but when I save and view the site it hasn't changed, so I'm wondering if I've not actually found the right thing to edit...

    Would really appreciate any help

    single.php only changes the post view page.

    To change the link appearance on your home page, and also any category pages, you'll also need to change index.php, and archive.php. Just look for the same thing that you edited in single.php.

    index.php = your home page < this is the one I'm guessing you'll want to change
    archive.php = category pages
    single.php = the page for a particular post
