    Hi,
I felt that Joomla saves you time but has more bugs while using too many components or plugins. I love the simplicity of wordpress. In my opinion you try for wordpress.

I personally like wordpress, because it's easy to learn and work with than joomla. But for professional web sites, we better to go for joomla.

In my opinion Joomla is far as good as Wordpress.
You could get awesome themes and templates for Wordpress which makes your blog pretty much a magazine or looking like a Joomla page.
In my eyes Joomla is outdated. Wordpress is the "new thing", and people should use it instead of using "old" Joomla.

I've used both wordpress and joomla and I prefer wordpress because of it's simplicity.

Joomla recently released their 1.5 version, and 1.6 is supposed to release this summer and rumored to have an in-built blog and seo urls.

IMO, "No!" Wordpress is far more user-friendly and SEO friendly when it comes to the way links to your pages are created. Joomla was just too messy IMO. The url of many of my webpages was not SEO friendly at all. In addition, I didn't like having so many modules all over the place. At least with Wordpress everything is right there on the left sidebar and I can drop down to the modules I need.

I suggest you try both and get a feel for each of the platforms.

People use Joomla and WordPress differently.
So if you are doing a big website, I suggest you use Joomla.
If you're going to make a blog or small time website, use WordPress.

Actually they are designed for different purposes. WP designed to be a weblog. It can be used like news site too with some special themes too. Joomla designed for creating web sites easily, adding many pages and modules as user wishes. Personally, I cannot compare them, because I see them in different category. WP as weblog, Joomla as CMS.

Another vote for Wordpress, love the simplicity, but can also get in and customise it nicely
