The (.) tel extension has been branded as "twitter 2.0" by some in the industry, and it's here to stay. Now's your chance to register some top quality (.)tel names. It may surprise you to know that not all good single (.)tel names are yet registered especially in the "ology" or "gist/s" sector. The potential resell value of these can be quite enormous like archaeology.tel or archaeologists.tel as there are numerous Universities and similar organizations worldwide that could possibly
bid for this type of domain :)

Here's an extract from my personal (.)tel portfolio,

    oncologists.tel
Medical specialists involved with the treatment of tumors, cancer.

    pathologists.tel
Medical personnel who study the cause and development of disease
and diagnose a particular disease or illness. Most are involved in the
science of genetics or forensic pathology.

    sociologists.tel
People trained in the science of social behavior of people. Some famous
sociologists are Vilfredo Pareto, Ferdinand Tönnies, Karl Marx to name a
few. Karl Marx was the first to observe what he called the inferior and
    superior complex
amongst children as they develop their self esteem
    and leadership skills.

    paleontology.tel and paleontologists.tel
The science of and experts of prehistoric animals and events. (eg qualified
dinosaur hunters and fossil experts are paleontologists. )

    genealogists.tel
Professionals in this field study historical records, genetic analysis, and
other records to obtain information about a family tree (background) to
    accuracy persevere recent history.

    lapidary.tel
The science or trade in gem cutting, sculpturing (eg diamond cutters
    and polishers are lapidists)

    mineralogists.tel
They are trained with the knowledge of Earth Science focusing on rock
chemistry, crystal structure, and physical/optical properties of minerals

    petrology.tel and petrologists.tel
A specific field of mineralogy utilizing chemical analysis to describe the
composition and texture of rocks. Today's petrologists incorporate
the principles of geochemistry and geophysics and though this can
determine the presence of oil or gas and/or some other mineral
    commodity.

There are still plenty of "ology" or "gist/s" yet to be registered though some of these are not as commonly known as some mentioned above. I think in the long run it is wise to invest in the "gist/s" instead of "gist" as the plural has a broader meaning and reach to many experts in any given department within a University or independent organization. This I feel will attract more bidding interest amongst the global academic community. So happy hunting and feel free to showcase your (.)tel domains here.

here's a couple of recent auctioned examples from Sedo,

    ohio.tel $1000,00 still running*est time left 3.5 days

    lesbian.tel $1000,00 SOLD!

It might be possible to sell a text ad or two via a bridging page which maybe needed to support all the countries that support such scientific departments in their respected national universities. I think these generic scientific terms may adopt a lot of good (.)org's (.)edu's and possibly (.)gov links if the sites are presented with the right relevant information, giving them possibility a pr 6 or even pr7 ranking. I also think that there will be a lot of natural traffic as these names are fundamental in science and the sites will provide publicly available names and numbers for the various departments associated with the domains name genre. This in the long run should maximize their virtual equity value which is where most of the (.)tel monetization resides :)

Here's a few more I found and registered:

    epidemiology.tel
    toxicologists.tel
    neurologists.tel
    microbiologists.tel
    immunologists.tel
    hematologists.tel
    climatology.tel
    meteorologists.tel

Hey nice to meet you  sorry to here that :( I think that the publicity about your domain in itself may get you a future bid, here's hoping~. I'm wondering if sex.tel (Alexa 554,859) will ever hit the resellers market. If it did it may set the bench mark for a means of comparison between (.)com and (.)tel tld aftermarket values. I think sex.asia sold for about $75,000 lets hope that the (.)tel market picks up in the near future!

I've set up guitarists.tel and will develop it as a free listing public internet phone book for guitar suppliers, course's and guitarists wanting to advertise their presence to the world:cool:

IMHO launching of dot tel will hardly herald a boom. There are far too many of such extensions. The first few that came out for eg, biz, info etc does excite me a little. But as more and more start coming out. It seems more of a waste of money getting them.

So far I have not heard a word about .tel domains since open registration day. I have very little faith that it will be going anywhere. I bought only one, it's the exact word of my local county. I thought about selling permanent listings for local businesses, but I don't know if it's really worth the effort.

    About Jepaa.com

Yeah it looks like a great (.)tel search engine :) I found by site guitarist, tel under the keyword 'guitars' Though finding the language converter box was at first difficult as the sites set in German by default, Apart from that I hope it takes off and gets some traffic to mine and other (.)tel sites!~
