How Many Words on the home page is best 1000 or less or does it Matter I noticed some using many but most seo 's persons recommend the mat cutz end route ... 1000 or less whats the truth here ...
you definitely need more than 100 words. you shouldn't be thinking in terms of "number of words", but instead, the quality of "content". When you have quality content, the number of words wouldn't be an issue.
My bad it was 1000 not 100 the correction was made .... and I agree on this factor here ""the quality of "content". When you have quality content, the number of words wouldn't be an issue.""
I've always found the more content on the homepage the better. On my sites the homepage always ranks better than any of the other pages and the extra content means you might pick up more long tail search queries.
the ideal amount for home page is about 250-350 words, you don't want too much then its hard for your content to be quality, keep it precise and always stay on the point of your keywords.
You definately need quality over quantity. Text with your keywords is a must. Take a look here for a free report: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1310892
Hi, I came across this link which may be of some help for you http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20020512.html Thanks
Hello there, I think the quality of content should matter, you should focus on the quality of the content Thanks, WS
I am trying use is about 400 words for home page and this work just great for me . I have did more experements on this and find that this solution is optimal for me.
The number of words depends on the type of content. Obviously, you will not have 500 words in an image gallery but you should have many on an article.
home page Word counts will not affect your SEO directly..... Word counts affect your site users visiting experience only..... what ever it may be, if your site does not make a good feel to your visitors , Surely IT wont be loved by Search engines also...
The homepage should be full of quality content. It's the first thing your visitors see. Quality content can consist of 100 words, but also 1000 words. Just make sure to draw attention.
everyone has a good opinion on this to be fair, and its what works for you isnt it, as i said ive been working on 250-300 words, if you treat the google bots as though they are human you can't go wrong too many words people give up, half your content will be missed etc..., not enough and the user doesnt know where he/she is, never stray off the subject in an attempt to get loads of words in there, if youve only got 150-200 words on a subject, then use it, as its probably more relevant than 1000 words, 800 of which are probably non sense anyway
thanks for the input.... At any rate it seems that of course yes top-quality keywords are recommended in your content.... the volume of keywords structured around the optimization of where you want your viewers to actually do what you expect them to is more valuable..... As a search engine optimizer learning the skills and traits of course the tactics are also very important...... the beginning of building a good website the structure or the determination of how well you encourage your readers.... I am very fascinated at many of the websites listed on the form post and I actually would like to thank all of you for posting your comments and your most valuable interests.... I am very encouraged by what I hear but not what see in the sig lines of some poster ... live with you recommend 360 600 words and then turn around and pulls links or ads in your signature line that promote websites with over 2000 6000 characters on the home page.... I'm clear on what I observe as a search engine optimizer but I'm very obscure to those who promote what they don't practice isn't that why we are all here posting on this search engine optimization forum..... Thanks again for your comments and post
macca81625 I agree with you 100% all the way on this search engine optimization topic ... lol are you actually saying that it is good if you use only 150 to 200 words on your home page? When you say too many words give up half of your content I'm trying to understand what you mean there
