    Cap limits in Co-op Advertising Network - sorry if this has been posted before but chilling over a beer and was wondering about Cap limits in Co-op Advertising Network

    So question is
    If a site has say a PR of 3 what is the Cap limit in Co-op Advertising Network

    PR 0 ?
    PR 1 ?
    PR 2 ?
    and so on .

    Myself I have hit the cap before and still run the same amount of ads knowing I would not gain from it but hay its a COOP so no problem

    Also there was words said that the Cap limits in Co-op Advertising Network
    would be removed . Is that still going to happen or is it that after some more thought it has been dropped

    It will be removed... have not had time to sit down and come up with a good logarithmic scale for it yet though.

    10... if your PR is higher than 10, you get the same credit as if you had 10. :)

    Why is this so important? I really dont get the whole caps thing. Why not just remove it. When there were a small number of coop members I could understand the need for the cap, but with so many sites in the coop now, the fear of a few large sites taking over just doesnt seem to apply.

    this would explain the 40,499 I got stuck at. I must be at the PR4 cap, minus the referral weight I am losing to another coop member.

    I cant wait for my referral to get some respect from google so I can get a little bit from them.

    If you referred someone, you get a percentage of their weight. Basically a forced "Thank You" for introducing them to the Coop network.

    I knew the part about the referrals, just didn't realize it actually came out of their weight, but it makes sense now :)

    I vote that we keep the cap so us small website's don't get dominated and over-run by large sites (like forums).

    If no cap, If I run co-op on Amazon.com What would my weight be? 1000000000000000000000000?

    There are wnough sites and ads that such a problem wont happen. In the beginning it was an issue, but not now.

    Why shouldnt a larger site like mine get the actual weight? I run 5 ads on a pr5 site with 25k pages. I get 300k page impressions a month so display 1.5 million ads a month. Why shouldnt I be entitled to equal in return?

    Don't forget that it may be not a complete cap removal but just change
    of algo...

    Right now the max for PR5 site is about 65K regardless if you have 2K
    or 20K pages.
    Wouldn't it be just fair to have let's say 65K for 2K site and 150K for
    20K? I recall somebody offered logarithmic formula. It's not about
    suppressing small sites but about fair weight distribution.

    The logarithmic weighting system was my idea. :) And you are right... the removal of the weighting cap means it's going to go to a logarithmic scale, rather than linear.

    waiting for a PR fix is the worst ... especially if you seo more than a handful of sites.

    hopefully a PR update won't be mid-summer. i need it now ... for like 6 new domains that already rank high in MSN and get lot's of traffic from G!
