I think seo not depend on the site layout.. how the site layout block indexing your site?? even now google bot more sophisticated so you won't be worry unless you block the google bot via set the meta tags. I think all you have to do is go to any web master tool (ex. google) and submit your site and place meta tag provided by google between HEAD tags

 

for blogspot, u more focus on content and title

 

First, you have to know the basic of SEO.
Then applied to your blogspot site. Maybe you need some trick or hack your blogspot template, like optimizing your title like syuxx said above (make the title become "your keyword title post | Your TITLE Site"
and soon. But basicly SEO is the same. And also blogspot still powerful. But if you want to serious and willing to spent money, buy yourself a domain. It's an assets.
