Can you split test manually or do you have to buy software?

I just got accepted into NeverBlueAds affiliate network. I have been reading about split testing to maximize your campaigns. My question is can you do split testing manually or do you need to buy software to do it? If you can do it manually, how do you do it?

Yea i agree, google website optimizer is definitely a great way to do a/b testing. there are also video to help you get the most out of your testing.

    One tip:
If you get decent amount of traffic, be sure to run your test for at least 2 weeks before coming to any conclusions.

You can split test however you feel will work best. I personally do all my testing manually but I have heard good things about the website optimizer... really its whatever you feel like. But you certainly don't have to buy software.
