i have free dns lookup tool site - rrlookup.com and today i checked my logs, and to my surprise stumbleupon sent me 2k visitors in past 2 days? is this genuine traffic??

The site is very new one, started less than a month ago and i never cared to promote. Infact i havent even put adsense in it.

How many stumble upons are there to this site?.

well, just start promoting it other social bookmarking sites like digg, delicious, propellar.

traffic does convert, just use some adsense initially..

That's pretty weird .. anyways stumbleupon traffic doesn't convert anymore for most people.

2K visitors in only 2 days is great. I'm curios what niche you're in and how many link you've submitted to SU?

Stumbleupon traffic notoriously doesn't convert - rarely clicks on ads, most of it looks for a second and on to the next site.
It is sort of genuine traffic- most won't have looked at your site for more than a second, but there are human beings at the end of it. If you've got something that engages them, they may visit again.

That's great. I have the same experience occasionally with a game on a flash games site that I have. It appears to quiet down for a while, then I receive another burst of traffic from them. Stumbleupon visitors don't tend to stick around but I'm not complaining..

Its great to see so many people getting more than double digit visitors per day with StumbleUpon. And 2000 is great! Congrats and by the way, do you include unique tags and exchanges for stumbles ? No hard feelings, but black hat is a part and parcel of our life, nowadays !

I agree, The most i have received is 7500 in one single day, then traffic went back to normal, maybe a little higher. Stumblers are fast, they are why you want to have top 10 lists and a great website design. They will look at maybe 1/4 of your page and move on.

I know that as i am an avid stumble, over 25,000 websites stumbled so far :)

You missed a good amount of money by not putting Adsense on your website.

Based on my experience, SU traffic is very unpredictable. Besides, I doubt if they can really be converted to Adsense money.

No, do not promote it on Digg or Propeller, it's hardly the type of content for social voting sites.

Really? I think you'll find in some cases, like great blog posts it can convert very well. By conversions I mean email / rss subscribers, conversions aren't always about direct income.

Hardly, most stumblers will not click on the ads.

If you can write good blog posts targeted towards them, you can get a lot of regular traffic spikes.

Traffic is a traffic, right? And every traffic can be monetized, that's for sure... if you get the same amount of traffic from them in the future, you should start finding your way to monetize that traffic...

I agree with most people here, stumbleupon doesn't convert that much. On one of my sites I get 1k uniques daily from stumble but I make peanuts with it :/
