$50 Logo Contest! Closing Date: 4/7/09 @ 5:00 PM Eastern

Hello, it's the Big Banana again. It's been awhile since I posted a contest but I've got a real challenge for you pros.

Logo Contest Parameters

1) Present logo can be found @ www.supremeclean.net
2) Logo color – Red
3) Tagline - Supreme Clean: Royal Service…Without a King’s Ransom!
4) Central theme - king’s crown
5) Secondary theme – sparkle
6) Font selection – must have a feeling of royalty
7) Must be in vector format, preferably .ai
8) Will also need large format bitmap preferably a .zipped .tif
9) Prefer the logo to be fit more square or oval and not long and narrow. More vertically-biased than horizontally-biased

Contest instructions: I am hosting a logo contest for one of my clients, RALPH E BOY. Please use your imagination and create a logo that “feels” supreme and royal. The new logo needs a crown. We are not sure where the crown should be placed so we're leaving that to you pros to figure out.

The secondary theme - the sparkle - can also be moved around.

Looking good, guys. Please continue as we haven't found "it" yet.

@both submissions so far - what if the crown was tilted over the S? Just thinking out loud as I can't even draw a stick figure let alone anything close to what you pros do.

Sorry for the delay, folks. We had a winter storm blow through here last night and it knocked out our cell towers. Ralph was unavailable yesterday and since the cell towers here are toast today I can't call him right now. I ask for your patience.

Thanks for your patience, group. When it rains...it pours. I lost internet last night and it didn't come back until just a bit ago. The snow storm turned into ice damage and trees knocked out cell towers, internet/cable, phones, and electricity for many here. But hopefully we'll stay up and online until the contest is over.

I spoke with Ralph E Boy this AM and we conferred some ideas/thoughts. Here is our feedback:

1) The storm knocked us back a couple of days so we're going to extend the contest until Friday, 4/10/09 @ 5:00 PM Eastern Time. This should hopefully give you some time to rework the feedback ideas and comments

2) @l3fty - great to see you in another of my contests! Thanks. Your middle contribution is the top pick of your 3 submissions. The font is great, but would like to see a different crown. Also the secondary font is going to be hard to read, esp. when it shows up on letterhead

3) @IM3D - thank you also. I recall seeing several of your awesome contributions in some of my previous contests. Great job, as always. Comments: don't really care for the crown and the font selection is kind of blah. After reading the rest of the comments please resubmit.

4) @TightWad - thanks for participating. It's not bad but just not what Ralph is looking for. The crown is nice but the font is hard to read. If you'd like to give it another go please keep the SC off. thanks

5) @I.D. - We like this crown a LOT as well as the tagline font. A couple of variation requests: a. Keep the Supreme Clean font the same for both Supreme and Clean b. The "Supreme" font is decent but l3fty's middle contribution is more the type of font that we're looking for c. What would it look like with the crown in the center?

6) @onlyfights, @Aderaine, @Zyndtel, @renderwork - thank you for your submissions. With all due respect they're just not doing it for us. Don't get me wrong, they look great - just not what we're looking for. Please feel free to try again if you'd like.

7) I sent reputation points to all submitters. l3fty, it wouldn't let me send to you 'cuz apparently I've sent you too many.

i don't think you'll be able to use ID's crown as istockphoto doesn't allow its stock images to be used in logos:

also, i hope my fellow designers won't copy my font idea just because the CH likes it.

 

No offence but in my humble opinion, I think 'copying idea' has its limitation and it should be limited to the design alone, leaving out 'font idea' from the context since most of us share the same font and we tend to use it over and over again for a particular contest with a particular theme and requirement. Cheers.
