I want to buy a domain name but its .com is not available.

So i have to go for .net or .co.in or .in (since my primary audience would be indians)

Which of these would you suggest ?

I would take .net personally. I know .in is popular in India, but still .net is extremely popular all over the world, so I assume it would be better in the long run.

My site would primarily cater to indian audiences thats why i thought of .co.in or .in

Does .in or co.in mean better SERP on Google India (google[dot]co[dot].in) than a .net domain ?

Or it doesn't matter much ?

Definately .net if you wanted .com primarily but if your only target will be traffic from India I guess .in would be better. Will the site be in english?

If I were you then I would have gone for .net or the audience targeted ccTLD.

A .in could help you in ranking higher in Google India.

    Take the .in.

I think either .net or .in would be fine. Just remember, if you ever want to branch out, go with .net.

I also go with .net as my second choice. I've never had luck with .info domains, and never tried .org domains

.net will be your best bet. It mostly depends on what you have on your site, but .net should work second best (after .com) in most cases.

You need a .com. Consider adding something to the domain name like:

    notavailable-site.com
    notavailable-tutorial.com

    etc.

It really does not matter to the search engines. I have .info domains with page rank and Traffic so I see no problem with any dot extension

Looks like it is almost 50% .net and 50% .in, except for those who have PR and traffic with any TLD!

I will suggest .in as you will get national recognition where your product target is.

    Good Luck!
