    Well i dont think sitemap is necessary for a single or 2 pages site , google crawl those pages even if there is no sitemap.

    Yes, Google will crawl them,but they wont ,if its not well optimized and as per their rules..
    So optimize it a bit and better to have a sitemap..

    I think it's a good idea to create a sitemap no matter what the size of you website is. Even though google is a strong search engine, Unless you have backlinks it might take a while for google to find you. I suggest making one and then submit it to googles webmaster. it definitely wont hurt any.

    Your pages should all be linking to themselves if it's that tiny a site (unless you have a good reason not to). There's no reason to bother making a sitemap :)

    For 2 pages no need... You need sitemap if you have more than 50 pages just google to found them.

    Play their game. They like sitemaps, use the sitemaps. Working with Google Webmaster also allows you to get other info about your site. It takes literally minutes to make and upload a sitemap, why not invest the time if it really worth it to you?

    Having a sitemap will not harm your website even if it has only two pages.

    using sitemap is always advisable from SEO perspective.

    Having 1 or 2 pages doesn't matter as long as google finds your site and crawls all the links, I think. It does help to submit a sitemap because your site could be in the first page of google result for your keyword.
