So I have a better idea of WHAT people want help with I thought I would write this post. So as the title suggests what is holding you back? Article writing or marketing? Website design for review sites etc... Copywriting (how to sell on a webpage) Time (not enough time) Don't know where to begin? So let me know and I will help you guys out and try to help if i can. Also follow along on my blog and I will address in more detail how to make money with CB you can see the blog in my sig. YOU CAN DO IT! All the best Chris
Hey you are a vendor of one of the products that i promote so you might be able to help me with this. In March i have sent 139 hops from my website to different sales pages of 3 different repair guides. 78 hops to my top pick guide, 35 hops to the second guide and 25 hops to your repair guide. And no sales at all I know 139 hops is not much but the traffic came mostly from PPC and lately from my articles on ezine so i think I am getting quite a relevant traffic. This is my landing page, it does not have a lot of info but my CTR is great (around 200 relevant visitors and 139 hops). www.myxboxfix.com Do you have any idea what is wrong? Should I try to change something or just wait for more traffic? Also it would be extremly helful if you could show me a sucessful landing page of one of your top affiliates so I can see how do they do it. Thank you very much
Hi Tibor28, No problem send me a PM regarding this and I will see if i can help. I think it is because you have me in 3rd place Only kidding, let me know in more detail what you are doing and i will try and help. Chris
Article writing and where to start. Just sitting and reading and reading and reading. Practically doing nothing. Time is not a problem, i have alot of it. And maybe i lack inspiration to start working. English is not my native language, so it's hard for me to write articles for example about health care and such. But writing about computer stuff is not a problem. "Computer related english" is not problem for me. Can anyone suggest me what to do?
Hi Guys, Yep I was thinking that time would be up there with the biggest problems, and also information overload. If you are finding that you do not have enough time then what I did when I was starting out and had a full time job and other commitments, is make a point of giving myself an hour a day. Ok, that is not enough to build a buisness overnight but you will find if you give yourself an hours work every day you will see results. When I say work I don't mean learning and reading posts I mean writing articles or actually taking ACTION. So if you think if you just did 2 articles in an hour every day that is 14 a week and 56 in a month. In 6 months you will have 336 articles (roughly) out there with just 1 hours work after work, you will see some sales from that. Make yourself do it, like tell your friends or family to reming you everyday it is your IM hour. Sounds corny but it works! Also techgate a help with getting articles out there is go to Ezine Articles and look at the high ranking articles in your niche for ideas. Get 4 - 5 of the top articles and then read through and take 3 - 4 points from each article, then you can make your own UNIQUE article like this. Remember to not copy articles but you can of course read them to get to know your niche. Also make a plan of what you are going to do with your hour every day like: Monday : 2 articles Tuesday: 10 us free ads Wednesday: 2 more articles etc... If you follow this plan you will start to see profits. Let me know if you need anything else. I hope this helps some of you. All the best Chris
Thank you very much Chri5123. This really helps. I need more posts like this, atleast it is inspiring for me. As i said free time is no problem. Im 24/7 at my PC.
yeh information overload is up there. thanks for giving time to helping others tho. One problem for me is I have no idea about coding, so im having to learn IM and how to put all this stuff up . Im using squidoo as a landing page at the moment, whats ur thoughts on that? thanks
No problem my firend, glad it helped if you need anything else just give me a shout. Barry, I was the same and still am, the way I get around this is just learning the things you need to know WHEN you need them for instance if you are doing article marketing you don't need to know web design. Although you might need to know how to set up a blog, so I would google that and learn just that piece of info and then get back to article writing. I have found 4 years on that I can do pretty much everything i need like database design, website design etc... Just take it one step at a time and you will get there. Squidoo is good as long as you make an informative lens if you just do hundreds of spammy lens they will delete them. However if you use Squidoo with Ezine articles and blogs it can be very effective All the best Chris
my biggest problem has been time, but now i have time ... i'm not so much after help, but just sharing my thoughts ... i think one of my mistakes has been i've been too busy chasing the "big" products ... i need to focus on the smaller but reliable sellers that can earn me a steady income without too much competition
Hi ! My problem is i am just not getting enough hops even though i am doing everything - article marketing, squido, social bookmarking, creating backlinks etc... For few of my targeted keywords , I have even got google page 2 (and these are highly competitive) - still not enough hops hence no sales Am I doing something wrong ? rather, what can i do better ?
Sounds like maybe your keywords are too short-tail or competitive and you're not getting the traffic to your ezines and lens' that you could be getting. I read somewhere that positions 1,2 and 3 on the first page get something like 70-80% of the clickthroughs. Try targeting some long-tail keywords and getting in the first 3 positions for the search term. It's either that, or if you are getting substantial traffic, just no clickthroughs, look for methods in increasing your URL clickthroughs on EZA, Squidoo etc...
What do you guys think. Is computer related stuff selling good in these hard times?? Is it worth to promote them?
First of all Thanks Chri5123 for starting a thread on this topic. My main problem is time as I am in a regular job and I hardly get around 1-2 hours for affiliate marketing and I really don't want to work that time. I have good knowledge about all SEO stuffs and I have also started affiliate marketing 3 months back. Although I didn't get too much time to work but I managed to get some success (17 sales in 3 month giving me around $280 in 3 months). I believe that I can get more success if I can devote around 4-5 hours daily to this all, which is impossible right now. The main point is that I badly hate my day job and want to start this as full time (I really love this) but I am afraid of failures. What if I couldn't get enough success to sustain my decision of leaving my regular job. As you know affiliate marketing is not a numbers game. It is not sure what results you will get in spite of your good work. What should I do in this situation? I don't want to make big money in starting. Even $500 per month would give me satisfaction to stand by my decision.
Hi Stephen Funny enought I just wrote a blog entry about time constraints and the best way to get around it. The truth is with sales it is always a bit up and down even if you bring in thousands I would say to dedicate an hour everyday to affiliate marketing and you will see success. Once you start bringing in money you can access whether you can make a full time income. The key is using that 1 hour a day to actually take action! Have a look at my blog for more info if you like. Chris
Hi i am using long tail kewyords - some with high competition/ some with low. But no positive results. both view rate and CTR is low - just top 5 articles of mine have around 400 to 1100 views , rest all are bummers
I find an overactive creative brain holds me back. I get so excited about new ideas that I often ditch half competed projects only to discover them in a dusty corner of my laptop months later. Worse, I often get carried away looking for the "big hit", and overlook tried and tested techniques which have been solidly making me money for years. One day I'll learn to outsource more and then I can run as many projects as I want!
Yep, don't worry you are not alone and I used to do this too! (I still do sometimes!) If you think you can only find out if something truely works if you put 100% effort and time in, if you just put 50% you end up with alot of projects that have only bought in 50% of the profits they could do! Just focus on one thing I cover everything on my blog that I know works as it is what I do. Also BlogSalesman, if this is the only thing holding you back then you can succeed! I started this post and as you can see there is a pattern: Not many people have said "I don't know what to do!" - some have asked questions to clear things up etc.. but the biggest problem seems to be time and motivation. Well if I said that you can work from home if you just put an hour a day in for six months and just make sure you do a whole hour, would you do it? What proof do I have? ME! This is more or less what I did and have been working from homw for 4 years! You can do it! Hope this helps, Chris
For those that say lack of inspiration... If you know that you hate your day job and would like to work from home, isn't that motivation enough? It isn't impossible as long as you take the dedicated action towards your business.
