eCPM is up slightly here, over last month. Traffic is slightly down, probably due to the holiday last week.

Google Adwords has made a significant change. Adwords is what is paid by advertisers pay that we collect a portion of as Adsense publishers.

Google set a new standard for landing pages. If a landing page appears to be nothing but Adsense ads, the minimum bid goes up to $5 or even $10. So I believe a lot of the low Adword bidders have been flushed out and the high bidders now pay less hence our lower eCPM.

    Hi,

My PV and eCPM have both gone down. Probably due to summer, the holidays, and the World Cup.

Google should have done this a long time ago. They are so greedy for revenue that they allowed leeches to infiltrate the system with 1 penny ads which I think is ludicrous.

    In Google's favor:
    1. They allow you to block anyone you want, use and ad tracker program and block sites that provide no value to you as a publisher ($0.01 per click) and to your visitors who find no content from the ads on your site.

    2. Google mixes in the ads that perform best not the highest bidder. So the penny guys get through because the dollar guys don't write good ad copy. Be mad at the dollar guys for having bad copy, low CTR, and high bids that don't help anyone.
