I think my laptop just got a virus...

I went to work on my laptop. The keyboard wasn't working but the mouse was so i restarted the computer. but now the screen doesnt come up anymore...

The "on" button is lit but computer doesnt start (nothing comes on the screen)

is there any way to fix this?

    thanks

Sounds like a hardware problem.. not a virus.

A virus wouldn't do that. Take it to get repaired.

i will take it to a repair shop tommorow morning.

I was hoping i could find an answer tonight to possibly fix it myself. How can it work one second and not the second after.

I didnt move the laptop or do anything special to it

Its like a machine, a car and even the human body. Everything works fine then pow the machine stopped running the car stalls out the human body gets a cold. Everything breaks down soon or later.

Its definately problem due to display connection problem as i am having the same problem in my Compaq laptop. Try to move your screen front and back (screen flap) and see if its work. Due to this problem currently i am never closing my screen (remain unfold condition all time) and it works fine for me.

    DON.

I think if its a hardware problem then its probably hard to repair it by yourself. :)

Better take it to the computer shop and they will do your work better !

Hope it gets well soon ;)

If reformatting does not work, its absolutely a hardware problem..
I hope it will be fixed soon ;)

I'm going to agree it doesn't sound like a virus. Is your laptop a tablet pc? They have a button on them you can use to rotate the viewing angle, that fixes the problem for me when something similar happens.

i figured it out. It needed a RAM reset (taking the RAM out and putting it back in fixed it) :)

Care to share what make and model your laptop was so others will know what to do if they are experiencing the same issue?
