A few weeks back i saw a wordpress plugin which auto updates wordpress version. And yes NOT plugins, wordpress itself. It said that it deactivates all plugins, updates wordpress, and then activates all plugins, ALL automatically... i didn;t download it then, and now i forgot its name....DOES ANYONE know of it?
I think it is part of the WP core. However, your host must support it. The plugin you saw was probably the one that disables the core update?
I think you may be talking about his plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/ However that is NOT required anymore if you are using the latest version of Wordpress (2.7.1) as you can update worpdress itself using a couple of clicks (i think).
It's a bad idea. If one of your plugins causes a problem after the update then your site could go down and you wouldn't even know it. With 2.7 updating is pretty easy.
Well i'm not using 2.7 yet...and i wanna update to 2.7 mrhrk01, yes thats the plugin, I will use it to upgrade to 2.7 then disable it Rep+ for u
I second deluxdon, very crucial: TAKE A WP-DATABASE BACKUP BEFORE YOU automatically install upgrades for wordpress! There is a plugin known as wp-db-backup or search for "wordpress database backup plugin" in google or wordpress plugins database on wordpress site. This is very crucial else you will lose your database if your server crashes or if the upgrades plugin encounters a problem.
