My website (www.soccer-tricks-exclusive.com) is online since February 9, 2009. I've optimized my website on-page. Currently, I'm working on off-page optimization. I'm updating my website about 3 times a week by adding new information and new pages. I'm also creating 2 or 3 backlinks a day by posting in forums and blogs. I often read that new websites shouldn't create too much backlinks too fast. Is this true? And am I doing it right with around 20 backlinks a week (2 or 3 a day)? And what more can I do too increase my ranking?
I think you'd be safe to do more than 20 backlinks/week. The key is consistency. If you do 1000 one day and none the next, then you should worry. I would also suggest writing articles pertaining to your niche... You could probably land some pretty quality links if you write some accepted articles.
posting on forums will not give you much linkk value but blog commenting is great for backlinks if relevant. regarding 2-3 links per day, you dont have to build 2-3 links each day. you can indtead do 20-30 a week or set some time aside where you spend few hours a week building backlinks. not all of your links will get indexed and followed by google the same day so you are safe to do weekly link building instead of daily. whichever works out better for you.
In that case, I'll turn up the link building. Thanks! I wrote 5 articles so far. They've given me a few backlinks. I'll write some more, though
You're right about the amount of forum backlinks. Pretty poor in comparison to the blog comments. I'm commenting on a few blogs in my niche. One has PR7, the other PR4 and PR3. Do you think this will increase my ranking? I'm currently number 14 on Google for my main keyword and there are a few established website above me
What's the point? It's just another MFA site with an audience not looking to buy anything. If you want to make money it's time to move on to something else. And figure out who your customer is first.
Don't mind internetmarketingiq's negativity...he tends to be blunt and to the point. Regardless if your audience is looking to buy something or not, you can still build a great website that makes decent money. It doesn't matter that it's mfa either. I know someone who makes millions every year from adsense. The comments about your link building frequency are right. You don't need to build links so slowly. Go ahead and get 20 - 30 links each day and it won't be a problem. Just make sure you vary your link building strategies and vary your link anchor text. You still want to make your links look as natural as possible.
hi it is indeed true that if new websites get a lot of backlinks then Google gets suspicious and may hammer your website But then too 10-20 backlinks per day wouldn't place you into much trouble moreover you can try a lot of techniques such as 1.directory submissions 2.social bookmarking 3.article submissions 4.press releases 5.blog commenting 6.forum posting 7.video submissions 8.squidoo pages 9.hub pages 10.wordpress and still many more.... hope this helps good luck with your website thanks, ankur
Vansterdam, thanks. I'll start to build more links. Ankur: thanks for that list. I've seen those options before, but still very useful. I'll try them!
Just go to add some fresh & unique content every week and try to promote that particular page for linking. Also use internal page url for back-link and add fresh content to that page. New site will be definitely take some time to be on SERP but have patient & work hard, you will surely get the desired result. All the best
Allot more time in your linkbuilding activities. 2-3 backlinks per day are kinda low. I highly suggest you do some social bookmarking and networking.
Try to do some SERP investigating and see where you rank on other SE's so you know where you are then just try to do what ankur said above
Thanks. I do regular SERP research. I'm on the second page of most major search engine. Except for Yahoo, who sometimes drops my website and then indexes it again...
I already increased my linkbuilding activities. The thing is, I read multiple times that too much linkbuilding for young websites is penalized. I also have an account at Digg.
no problem. your technics is very very nice, it is not harmful if you keep it up live time. Onething keep in mind that you should use different types link building as articles, blog, social book marking, content relevant link building, directory submissin, RSS and more. don't use one method for link building because that will harmful. I create 5 to 10 back links from different different method each day. I got pr3 and top ranking on thousands keywords.
You could do some researching in where the sites rank higher than you get their links from, to get an idea to where to focus. Just copying their links probably not a good idea but you get a hinch on where you can go if the brain-freeze hits you.
When someone states "to many" back links, they are referring to one-way directory or reciprocal linking. If you do Articles, Blog/forum comments, press releases, etc. , there are no limits. Just be smart about it. G does not like spikes. Since you joined DP in Feb, you could have done 1,000 posts and you would have been ok.
@ mole: that's a good idea. I'll do some more research on that. @ catanich: yes, you're right. I was already wondering about foum posting and stuff like that. It wouldn't make sense if you could only post 3 or 4 comments on a forum each day. @ epicgene: thanks. I found a few high PR blogs related to my niche (PR7, PR5). I've been posting them since a few weeks. And yesterday, my website went from PR0 to PR4.
