Articles or My Own Website?

What would be better choice when starting a new business. Articles selling an affiliate product, not my own, or my own business website that belongs to me.

I do well promoting my own products but if you don't have the resources to create your own products then leverage the product of someone else. In the end you'll have to test what works for you. Don't forget about list building either.

Start first with with selling affiliate products. That way you'll gain more experience or "get your feet wet" so to speak. Do not be afraid to try. However, don't rush you need to do it slowly first. Once you get the hang of it then you can go to the next level of creating and selling your own products via your own website.

You can try out both, and if you are going to sell articles-its best to have a site as an example. So you cannot really do one and not do the other. They go hand and hand. Or at least in my experience.

For the most part, think of articles as being temporary. Unless you really luck out and write one fantastic article that is very keyword focused, sales & traffic will fall fairly quickly. This is due in part to the way the article directories do business. They want fresh content or a popular article that gets tons of hits. Otherwise, as time goes by, older articles get kinda pushed to the back to make room for the good stuff.:))

So, as everyone else said, it is a good idea to do both. While it is possible to earn on the net without a web site, it is a heck of a lot easier if you have one, and more lucrative.

    Good luck,
    Zeek

Do both! I would start with affiliate marketing so you do not put all your eggs in one basket until you are ready to move on to your own brand

Whatever you do, as stated don't put all the eggs in one basket, but don't put one egg in each basket. Don'T spread yourself to thin.

I agree with starting on trying to sell affiliate products first, so you can get the hang of it and gain more experience for when trying to sell your own product.

The first thing you must do is choosing the affiliate product you want sell.It would be great if you have the expertise of knowledge on that product.Making articles could make a great help so that the customers will be more interested in knowing the product benefits and advantages.

I started with articles. It's time-consuming though. I'm looking at affiliates. Actually, I've applied to 3 CPAs already. Just waiting for feedback.

^^This depends on your talents. I do all three, there are plenty of places to get money by writing or reading, my favorite is affiliate product, but I would recommend setting up your own blog or website to do this. Anyway if you would like to see some good websites to write articles for money check out http://makemoneyfree.comuv.com it is also in my sig. I also added how to build, market, and earn with a website for free so if you would like to build a website it is a good place to start. If you have any questions about make money websites please feel free to check my money making forums in my sig. I hope this helped:)

It will be depending on you. If you have both skills then do it out. There's no wrong in trying all the ways as long as you do it right.

I think that you can start any business as long as it provides good information to the users. That can be a simple blog, or affiliate site, selling articles etc etc.

"my own business website that belongs to me"

This sounds good option to me.

Having your own site is a must. Why work to build up traffic to someone else's site?

Have your own site and start with affiliate products.

Put in the time and learn how to produce your own products.
Or find a partner and work with them producing products.
I did this and now produce my own products.

For sure, use article marketing. I have a friend who is still getting visitors from articles he wrote over 5 years ago.

I would also try suggesting both methods.
