Has anyone here applied for & received a grant from the government for their home business? If so, what was required and how difficult was the process?
You can check out the SBA (Small Business Administration) and SCORE that is the best place to find info on small business loans. Additionally there are a number of sites that will give you grant writing tips. Just do a search if you want more info than the SBA or SCORE offers.
Yes those are great resources Who's that guy on TV that talks about Grants all the time? He wears colorful suits? You can find his books at the local library.

I personally did not apply such grant coz it will involve a lot of hassle process and verification process. Why don't you apply for startup funds from private institution? The amount will be more higher than the one provide by government. By the way here is the link http://www.grants.gov/
