wordtracker tool vs overture tool vs seo book tool

It seems seobook and overture are on the same page as far as how many of each keyword are searched monthly. I know seobook uses overture as part of it, but wordtracker seems to have completely different keywords as "most searched" compared to the other 2 tools. Why is this?

Wordtracker uses meta search engines like Dogpile and Metacrawler. Overture uses Yahoo! search data.

Don't use the overture site or go by the data that comes from overture because the data is 8 months old. If you look at the overture tool, it says results from January 2007. I wouldn't use data that is old, keyword research is a very important step in any marketing campaign so using old search data is no good to you. Look into keyword discovery as well, they compile there results from over 100 different engines and not just 4.
