as far as i know you are not alowed to put it next to a image. Since there are conficting answers why not ask in the adsense forum itself they will give you the exact answer for it.

    This is why:

    http://adsense-nl.blogspot.com/2006/12/advertenties-afbeeldingen.html

In English: People click on the text/images because they think it has something to do with the image. So, it's forbidden.

    Get it? :D

It shouldnt be the problem but it depend on google judgement. Therefore, i will suggest you move either move the image or ads down to make them vertical. Or make the content up abit, mean some words appear in between the ads and the image

It is against the AdSense TOS. It is not allowed to place image next to the AdSense Ads because this will encourage people to click on the AdSense Ads.

Its doubtful and more than 501% is against TOS, no one is allowed to put ads next to the image. So use ads on the image place, and put image any where down in content

Unfortunately, this placement is against the adsense TOS. However, I see a lot of people doing this and not get banned. It is against Adsense TOS because visitors "might" think the picture has something to do with the ad.
