Why only 6 links to my website in google and 270 in Yahoo

Why are there only 6 links pointing to my website with "link:www.decouvertesmag.com" as oposed to 270 with the same command in Yahoo

 

Yahoo reports pretty much every link they find, including internal links and nofollow links. Google on the other hand only reports a sample of the links they find. I believe Google just does this to hide the secret of which links help Google rankings the most. They also don't want people to be able to improve rankings by copying another website's links. Just because Google only reports 6 links, it does not mean that those are the only ones helping your rankings. Google Webmaster Tools shows a larger sample of backlinks.

yahoo shows all the backlinks, google shows only a part to avoid competitors to know each other practicices
if you want to see all backlinks on google, just sign up under google webmaster tools

 

Google never shows you the true # of links.

for the reason above,but makes no sense since you can just hop over to yahoo.

 

Google's backlinks command only shows a few, not all of a website's links, mostly sites linking to a website that is PR4 and above.

If you want a more detailed Google backlinks to each of your site's pages, I suggest you sign up for Google Webmasters account. It has a section where you can see both external and internal links to EACH of the pages of your website. It is so much easier to use than Yahoo Site Explorer.

If you had used search function of forum then you'd have realized that Yahoo is good for reporting link. Google doesn't report every link.

I've been around DP a while and still hate the DP search function. It is not easy to get a DP search fine tuned to what you're really searching for. So some new people innocently just post.

 

Webmaster tools doesnt show "ALL" backlinks, Noway does it...

Sitelinks is more accurate when viewing links, Its useless to sign up to webmaster tools to see backlinks, I dont even think webmaster tools shows blog comments

Google only show you a little links they have indexed,so if you want to see the links,you could use yahoo.

google shows only high pr backlinks but they know that you have links on other site too. My site has 500 backlinks google shows only 8.

 

Use the Google Webmasters Tool to get a more accurate value of backlinks that your site get on google.

 

I too have experienced this . I think Google want quality backlinks and want that too.

 

i knw a site with over 5,00,000 backlinks in Y! and only 13k in Google..its knwn fact that google hides its algo data from competition n manipulators...also quality of backlinks may be treated differently by these 2.

 

Google only care on the dofllow but yahoo care both dofollow and nofollow, that's the reason

 

Backlink consideration of google is slower than yahoo.
