Make sure your keyword density is good and they are in bold and in your headings. Build backlinks from blogs that have a good PR and are "doFollow".
Exchanging links isn't going to help you much these days. What you need are keyword rich anchor text inbound links (e.g. your signature in this forum should be "Soccer Tricks" instead of your complete url. Also, I would research soccer blogs and forums and participate in those with a link back to your site. Make sure to actually provide valuable info to the blog/forum, or they will eventually just remove your link. Also, check to see if they use dofollow or nofollow. Nofollow means that Google will not give you any credit for that link.

EXCHANGED links are not as powerful as one way links. You want others to link to you especially sites with high traffic a.k.a. high page rank. Visit blogs that "do follow" and leave QUALITY comments with your keyword as anchor text. Keep doing this weekly and put up new content that is keyword - targeted. Try social sites like twitter.. if there is a wiki for this type of thing submitt to a wiki.
