using YouTube to gain better rankings

Has anyone used YouTube to boost your page ranking, if so tell me about it!

 

Yes a very good question... I've been wondering how you can boost traffic or ranking via youtube as well..

 

Youtube is good to kill poor ppl in africa...for each million google wins with youtube 100 people die of hunger in africa...screw youtube+google

 

Based on my experience, YouTube is not a good place to promote your products.

I had uploaded more than 100 videos to promote various digital products.
My videos on YouTube are getting very few views compared to the other
video sites.

I guess visitors are more interested to watch comedies than searching
for promotional videos on YouTube.

But there is big benefit if you know how to prepare sitemaps of
your videos on YouTube. G will reward you with good SERP.

 

Youtube does not really help it only helps if you have many people visiting the stream

youtube does not help your pagerank since the links there are nofollow but its good to bring in some traffic or rank for long tail keywords maybe

 

Youtube is good for creating your own fan base. Do a weekly show that actually has some meaning towards the niche your interested in and people will watch. You can easily go look on cnn, a tech site, or whatever the main website for the source of infomation on your niche is and just talk about the main topic of the day. Then ask for other people opinions.

No one wants to see commercials they want to see real people. Once you have enough subscribers then you can direct them anywhere you want them to go.

This is a long term method not a quick get rich scheme method. The best results come from long term content updated method.

 

i dont think youtube helps your page rank, and if it does i would love to know how myself.

i have posted video's there and i have seen a boost in my traffic.

 

I use youtube to host my HD videos of my scripts. I doubt anyone watching my videos bought my products.

You must keyword optimize your video description and title as you would an ezinearticle.com article. It doesn't necessarily boost your se rankings but can do wonders for traffic in general.

One of my sites ranks very poor for my target key phrase, however I did a youtube video for it and that video is front page for my key phrase. Needless to say that video is my number 1 source for visitors to the website.

Youtube is more for traffic than SE rankings. SEO is for show, traffic is for dough.

Youtube is about building a brand for marketers of today, a lot of potential too if you're videos are of high quality.

 

i think youtube does not effect with backlink or something that make Pagerank increase!

 

These are all great comments. My conclusion is this. YouTube will NOT help with page rank. However; if you have an interesting topic and are consistent with it you will gain a following. Through that following you wil get more traffic.

I think a lot of posters on this thread are mssing the point of YouTube.

Take from the page of Donald Trump.

Making it big is all about BRANDING. You brand YOURSELF. i.e. you become a name brand. For instance, my pseudonym is Kevin Cardinale. 3 months ago Kevin Cardinale didn't exist. But with youtube and other sources, when you google Kevin Cardinale, all my stuff appears.

Why is branding important? Marketing 101, do you think People listen to Donald Trump because he's a genius investor? No, he's built a brand, and continually builds a brand. He brands himself constantly. So that when he opens his mouth, people rush out to buy whatever he says.

So, youtube is be best place to brand yourself.

For everyone hating Fred and nigahiga and sexyphil, they all have branded themselves. They put t-shirts up on their youtube page and make $100k a year each. They didn't sell products at first. But now after branding, they make a killing.

Stop thinking short term, or small term. Think big picture, 5 years from now. These little products you're trying to promote now will be chump change if you brand yourself, first. and youtube is the best and FREE way to do it.
