RSS Feed in html

How can I put an RSS feed in my index.html? I've done some research and I'm coming up with js (but haven't seen the code to do it) and flash (but I want to stay away from that). I have a feed on my sister's site, but that's .xml. My boss wants an RSS feed on his site, but wants it on the index page. How can I do this?

    Help. :D

    Go to simplepie : http://simplepie.org/

probably your best bet, if the page is in HTML though you are pretty limited to javascript or embedded forms - like feedburners widgets. Simplepie requires PHP and a call to PHP files to function.

Thanks for your reply, but simplepie doesn't seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. I say this, because if you click on their rss feed icon (in the url bar), it takes you to another page, which is their actual feed page. I can make an XML feed page, I just want to be incorporate it in an html page. So, my index.html will actually be my feed page (with xml included).

More help? Sorry if I'm being difficult or dense.

    Thanks again.

that's probably because the sample you are looking at is on their page ? You have to download it and install it on your site - then you can have a play with the different options and add your own RSS feeds, there's about 3 or 4 different scripts that they give you .... one is the main RSS search engine, two is a mixed RSS reader where you can add several RSS feeds and merge them together, three is a single feed reader .... four - well this covers everything.

What I'm seeing on these sites is a separate page for their actual feed, that is in turn parsed by js or php or whatever and then displayed on the html page. Am I correct in this? The html page is just showing flaked and reformed xml from the real feed page. Yes?

    Thanks for your patience.

yes that's basically it, it reads and displays a feed on to a certain page.

Did you actually want to create a feed ? I am a little confused now.

My boss wants to make the index.html page the feed page, but I guess the best he can hope for is redisplaying the feed on the index page. Ok, that's good. Thanks for your help.
