Hello everyone. I was wondering if any body could tell me how people make wordpress themes or point me in the direction of a site that could explain/teach me how to. Also/or is there a software or program to do it? Thanks in advance.
There are some good ebooks about designing wordpress themes. You could have a search and see if any of these help you. Find a blank template and work from there.
Or, just start with one of the standard-templates delivered with WordPress, look at the layout, and read about the theme-creation which is put up on the Wordpress-pages. More or less all you need will be found there.
This teaches a basic understanding http://www.wpdesigner.com/2007/02/19/so-you-want-to-create-wordpress-themes-huh/ it doesn't teach fancy design but it gives you an understanding of the way a theme may be coded so that you can combine that with any other ideas that you may learn in other places.
Thank you for your input. I have been trying and reading a lot, and found a free blank theme to try to build one but I have not found any really good info yet. I will check out the link you provided. Thanks for that. I found blank ones, is legal to use one and build the template the way I want it then sell it? Does anybody know a good place to get a free clean blank theme that doesn't have other peoples info in the heading? Thanks for the input. I have given up on this for a while but I still want to try again and get it figured out. Thanks.
