Hello friends, What is the strategy for internal linking. How should it be done in order to make the best possible use of it. Please guide me with your valuable suggestions. Thanks Shailendra
Try to create an internal links within your content for corresponding keywords to corresponding pages in your website.
There are many types of internal linking techniques. General guide: - Smart use of "nofollow" to accumulate the power on the required pages. - Right anchor text to be placed in right places and in good proportions. - 3 levels. "fish" -> "yellow fish" -> "buy cheap yellow fish" Experiment and find the right formula for your website ;-)
Good tip is to make sure the links to unimportant pages have a "no follow" on them, i.e contact us, privacy policy, terms and conditions. When I say unimportant I mean in terms of the search results. No one is really going to click on your contact us page in the SERPS. Just Google 'no follow syntax' and that will show you what syntax you need to add to your html links. This technique also controls the flow of page rank through your website and keeps the PR on the pages where you need it most, i.e. product pages, product review pages etc
I agree with dinkster and have also written an article (some time ago) that may help you... http://www.businessopp4you.com/550/internal-linking/
This is the first time i read about putting no follow tag on less important page but the logic is good and i will follow
It looks like a good idea when putting no follow tag on no important page i.e contact us, privacy policy, terms and conditions. And my question is how many these you can have? In my website, there is only one when you are talking about 'contact us, privacy policy, terms and conditions." So I do not think this way can be a good way to build your link. But having some is better that no have.
