    Theres only so much you can do , just encrypting the footer is pretty easy and on the flip side pretty easy to take out or dismantle it , so really think about it , if its worth paying someone to encrypt it for you.. The users that use your script and like it if the footer isn't TO MUCH they will likely keep and thats speaking from experience of scripts i have wrote

    Why not be honest with kess070 and tell him that you can't really do much about effectively encrypting a template footer file. I got a private message from you, too, did not know about this thread though.

    To cut the long story short, what you're trying to achieve has been proved to be worthless. I could do this, too, and I own a Zend Guard license to use for that but it will be a waste of time and money on your end, sorry to say that.

    @clive, thanx for your input. i was really after a simple script to ensure that the footer remains in place and if it is removed (or tampered with) the template does not work properly. This has been done with a few lines of code, which of course can be solved by someone determined to break it. But my intention was for the "average"/ noob user to leave footer in place.
