It's rather confusing but, why is it that when i look at my website statistics for example yesterday, it says i have 1200 visits, however on top sites that monitor the site it says 600,700, 400 even. Am i wrong and are they right? or the other way around lol?
check your host stats from your panel. do you have any stats viewing (awstats) ?? would be mroe likely to be acurate
Some counter count ever visit as per click but some by IP that is why they differ. One free counter is www<dot>sitemeter<dot>com it really is great and free
I've just registerd with google and put it up, how long does it take for it to update? does it do it at the end of each day? had it on for over half a day now and its still 0 traffic(and im 100% i am getting traffic lol)
It takes at least 24 hours to collect all data from your site. You should wait for few more hours. Google analytics will give you the exact no. of visitors. I am using it on all my sites.
Yeah, Google analytics is the best monitor, but just to know that sometimes it needs more than 24 hours to collect information from your site.
I used to run 127 sites last year and google analytics won't help if you need a general summary of traffic.
