I guess I'm a smaller operation than most, but to me it's so disheartening to see my AdSense reports where I get one click and my total daily earnings are a penny...what is the point? Honestly... I understand that the reason for that is the niche does not have too much bidders buying the AdWords, so my question is this: How can I find out which words are worth more, and make sure that those ads are running on my site? Is there anyway to get more money per click without switching to a completely different niche? The niche is Hip Hop. The site is www.freshlyservedhiphop.com.
Good luck man. I've been using adsense for a couple years on my hip hop site. The clicks are worth a little more than 1 cent on average, but not by much. I'd worry more about click through rate, your ad placement, I don't think, will get you that far. Mess around with the image ads a little bit, obviously, this is for the hip hop niche, and not common advice for all websites. Increase traffic, and if at all possible, I know, its difficult with the particular niche we are involved in, but write longer posts. Google can't find higher paying keywords when you're just writing a new video from Asher Roth. You're surely not going to become rich from the hip hop niche, but you should able to pay for your servers, etc, if you do what I suggest.
Use adwords keyword tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal to find out the cost of the keywords, add more high pay keyword and increase the density to get better CPC
As stated above, building traffic and making quality posts are the most important things you can do to earn more. Aside from that, you can try to reduce the MFA and low pay-per-click ads by using a list from adsblacklist.com in your competitive ad filter. It doesn't work for everyone, but it has worked well for me. Good luck!
Music sites suck. They are very hard to monetize because for the most part visitors are not looking to buy something.
Your meta description and keywords needs way more attention. I've never dove into the hip-hop niche mainly b/c I don't listen to that genre although the most sounds advise would be to follow what skins4webs said IMO.
From what I see of your site, it has a lot of video content but little to no articles or text content. Consider adding latest news regarding the hip-hop scene and/or informative articles about hip-hop related to your niche. I am sure that should work for you.
THat's why you choose niches that get you more money. Try the Adwords tool by Google to see which keywords are worth more.
Change to another niche or go with an affiliate program. Not all niches can make money with Adsense -- it's a hard cold fact. Contrary to some opinion, you can't simply throw up Adsense ads on any site and make money.
I know what you're saying. It's an insult to make a penny a day. It takes some research to get your money up.
I guess there is not much competition of people bidding in adwords for hip hop related terms. Such a shame, I find I have the same problem, the sites I enjoy most don't do that well in as far as adsense goes. I have a techie blog and you better believe that audience is not going to be clicking on an ad, not even by mistake!
Just get huge amount of traffic then CPC will increase but careful about your CTR. Higher ur CTR higher your earning will be. No need to look for other niche if you dont know about it. And try to make at least 5 decent sites with 1000 daily visitors. then you will see money flowing. And welcome to DP as i can see you just have 2 posts. Be active here you will learn everything you need. Reduce your post on single page. make it 4
I looked at the AdWords tool a few times, but I don't understand how you can tell which words are worth more.
who doesn´t? i love high paid ads too, but they appear only in goof website, where they have good contents, and high traffics.
Also what can influence the amount per click is the quality of traffic that you send to advertisers, if a publisher sends them poor traffic you will get the decent advertisers opting out of your site.
