Kontera and SEO

My site had been ranking #1 for a 2-word keyphrase and after putting in Kontera Ad, it dropped down to #4 or #5. Could this be a problem, besides the fact that I haven't update my site for awhile. I had been ranking #1 for this keyword for more than a year. The other thing that I could think off with regarding to the drop is that my server went dead for about 5 days or so... And I think this was probably around the time that google visited my site. Another thing that was different was that I got listed in DMOZ after almost a year waiting. But the DMOZ metatags took over my own regular meta tags.

You need to update your site otherwise your rankings will drop. That is why a blog is often on sites. And google visits your site more than once a year. The spider constantly updates your site.

The Cliche' is "There is nothing as constant as change". Hard to say. But what is the point in ranking number 1 if you are not making money?

How about $1000/day? Not from Kontera of course! :D Kontera was just a little experiment. I saw my site is back up to the 2nd position now. Maybe it wasn't Kontera's fault after all.
