I had a blog and I've put adsense on it. On my index page (www. example. com) it shows unrelated advertisement like "blog templates", "google reader" and blog related ads, but when I go to the subpages, it displays the related ads perfectly. What seems to be the problem with my blog?
Your subpages are probably targeted better than your index. When adsense looks at the index it's probably got soo many choices for ads since it's an index and probably has a log of different and unrelated concepts, that it just picks up something generic like blogging.
Maybe they started already with that dart cookie. Was you looking at blogs or websites before your blog. Just a thought
Umh, I see "Hotel Near MD Anderson", "You can stop drinking" ads on my proxy website Why it is so ? My keywords are not related to drinking or hotels !
I'll just post more to my blog and see if it will still display the "blog" ads. If it still display the unrelated ads, maybe its the dark cookie that jkadin was talking about.
You can try opting out of the DART cookie and see if anything changes. http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html I don't know how long that would take.
Google can you say relevant ads. They will lose publishers now wait and see..Google its time you fall flat on your face. Now once again google can you say relevant ads.
I've tried opting out the cookies but nothing changes. It is still displaying that "blogs" ads. If I change my template, would it affect the ads? But it is too much work to edit a new template again.
Use 'Competetive Ad Filter' of Adsense. It filters out unwanted ads. You can set those that are related to your niche and high-paying.
I'm having exactly the same problem - all the inside pages are displaying appropriately contextual ads, but the front page is displaying something that has nothing whatsoever to do with the content! I tried using the competitive ads filter as suggested, but they just replaced one inappropriate ad with a different inappropriate ad. :-( Anyone have any success in addressing this problem? If so, how? TIA!!!
