Good thing I only worked on one lens and figured out that it wasn't worth my time. It gets very little traffic, even when it made it into the top 100 for its category. Sucks that it went nofollow. Definitely won't go back now.

Squidoo is still dofollow if your lens is out of Work in Progress (WIP) status.

A newly published lens is in WIP status until there is a Squidoo LensRank update (which usually occurs every 24 hours). That is, if your lens has at least three modules, not including the introduction and guestbook modules.

Oh dear, are you sure? where did you find this out? a friend of mine has put a lot of effort into Squidoo lenses lately - think I'd better take him to the pub for a few drinks before I tell him :D

So pretty much any decent lens will still be dofollow?

Not used squidoo that much but would still be a blow to see it go nofollow

You know how they made the trick? It's all dofollow if you are logged-in browsing Squidoo.

Log out and see that your links are nofollow if the lenses are not featured ones. Again, it's dofollow only when your lens is a "featured" one (with a green check, you know).

Just log out, and check from your Firefox plugin, and you will find out the truth.

There is no reason to leave a lens as a non-featured (WIP) one. Just add more modules if it has less than three (not including the introduction and guestbook). Then it will become featured after the daily LensRank update and the links will be dofollow.

Squidoo is NOT nofollow. It starts out as Nofollow and changes to a follow link after 24 hours. I don't get where you're getting your facts from.

    Proof:
    http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-build-a-windmill

There is no nofollow, I am logged out. Look at the html code.

Edit: Last I checked, all comments were changed to nofollow. They were really good high PR backlinks which a ton of people took advantage of.

All of my lenses are dofollow - even when I check them in Firefox and am not logged in. All have a green tick next to them in my dashboard but none of the lenses have been featured on a lens of the day etc.

Having said that, there is talk in the Squidoo forum (announcements section) that they are trying to cut down on spam - they have a spam filter that flags certain lenses for manual attention.

The comments on my lenses are dofollow.
