It's important that you comment in a thoughtful manner. If you comment on high traffic, authority blogs in your niche then you may gain traffic from other readers of the blog who might follow your link based on the quality of your comment. Also, you might gain a little link weight if the blog is set up so.

Try it and let us know the results! ;)

You comment on a post, curiosity may lead a reader at that blog to click through to your site if you left behind the url and if they are interested enough.

Direct traffic from commenting can be a struggle and usually requires some lengthy well written replies to attract attention. There is certainly some SEO value in blog commenting too, just make sure the blog isn't NoFollow.

The traffic may not be huge but it is always targeted if you comment in your niche blogs.

Well, some websites offer comment form with certain fields like name, email-d and website respectively. If the posted comments are moderated, then the link may turn as backlink... more over, users who visit the page where comments are embedded contains your comment which must be having a link already....

Another aspect is, if a keyword is given in the field "Name" and a link in comment form, then that name itself ..i.e. keyword itself turns as anchor link for your site.

Overall, there are more chances of clicking on either link directly or keyword which would take user to your site. That's what we usually call it as "traffic"...

Hope you got it... if not lemme know.. will tell u in detail !

I think that if you do it thoughtfully it can really quickly build a readership for your blog. Some blog owners just won't come back to reply, but many will. Keep the exchange going and you'll have some valuable readers.

Don't just leave a quick comment like 'great post' that's just lazy. Take the trouble to read the blog then make an interesting and thoughtful post.

The benefit of this is that you can gain some of the PR juice from a high ranking blog if you have a link back to your own site - but do make sure it's a 'do follow' blog.

    1. Do not spam.
    2. Consider the blog author's audience. Some of them will read your comment and quite a few will check your blog. You should not aim for SEO or link juice. Do your best to make those visitors regular visitor. Make sure that they'll subscribe to your RSS feed.

If you have a blog that does:
    Weight Loss Pills
    Viagra
    Free Music, or Movie Downloads
    Ringtones
    Coupons
    Survey Offers
    Knock off watches and purses

You can hang it up. Very few blogs with real content will let your link onto their blogs...they are just known spam niches, unfortunately.

Commenting on other sites, for me, are unlikely to help on traffic, unless you are a reputable commenter for that site.
