Wordpress - Profiles/More in-depth user information/user-sign up

    Hello,
    On Wordpress, I want to limit comments to users that sign up on my blog, but the sign-up is very generic and bland. Is there a way to get more information out of the users that sign up and have a profile for those users where they can add an avatar?
