    Hi guys,

I need a basic (newbee friendly) software for mac to design my personal website. I'll probably be using a template to start...

    Freeware :D would be excellent!

    Thanks in advance.

iweb is not freeware, but it is bundled with every new mac since os tiger. If you have os tiger, you probably have iweb. iweb is newbie friendly and comes with a couple of templates that you can use. A more advance software similar to iweb is RapidWeaver, which I like over iweb, It comes with about 40 templates that you can use, I like about 4 of them. Moreover there are not many third party RapidWeaver templates that I like, but that's just my taste. But a person can design their own Rapid Weaver template or commission one. I currently use sitegrinder by medialab, which is great for newbies and professionals.

With each of the above software you don't need to know anything about programming or design to build a website, so in that sense it's newbie friendly, still you will have to learn how to use the software.
