Please provide your thoughts on the NEW layout for Swingk.com

I just finished this layout sometime ago because the current one didn't agree with me any more.

Please give some input on this layout. It's kind of "ify" because I could hate it and love it at the same time.

Suggestions, thoughts and "critisizems" are much appreciated. Please input on user-experience also. Was it hard to use, was it easy, simple, quick, confusing?

Hi, the site is clean and easy to use! No clutter, very nice. Throw an ad banner or two on there

I would like to point out that the footer area that says

Is riding halfway up the white box and halfway down into the colored border. I am not sure if it is supposed to be sitting in the color or white. This may be my browser IE 7 winxphome monitor width 1366.

I gave the site a test with a random forum url, here it is

Sorry, as a layman I didn't get the concept of short URL. Where can I use it.

Provide some detail about the concept and its benefits.

 

I have a screen close to that size so it may be IE as I've been slack on the cross browser testing. Thanks for bringing it up. Maybe I should put that part in the "outer" area on the primary background.

Great idea. In fact I've been contemplating adding that for quite some time. I might add it.

Good Idea!.. Its working fine but there is no attractive features for your site, just add some more color effects to your site.

 

The idea of keeping it simple is smart. Look at the Google homepage. However, they use multiple colors, that allow for a more appealing design. I would consider a different color set that is more appearling and varied.

 

Yeah the color theme seems to be a common suggestion. I'm pretty bad at design but it looks like the next thing I'll have to rehash.

 

I agree. Just a small link of 'how it works' would be suffice. Looks good though, like people have said, short but sweet. Needs a little more work.
