Wealth Wars (http://www.wealthwars.com) is a mass multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) that was first started back in 2003. The game has had it's ups and downs from the start and had to change upgrade servers 3 times in the first month just to keep up with new users.

Everything about the site is 100% custom designed/developed. In mid-2007 Wealth Wars was completely redesigned/redeveloped to become more efficient and to be expandable for unlimited growth. The member database was restarted and it has grown from then to where it is today at 66,104 members.

At it's peak, Wealth Wars was earning about $2,000 per week ($8k/month) with about $2,500/month in payouts and prizes to members. There were some days earnings were up to $650 in a single day.

The site has not had any one to maintain it for the past several months. There is no monetization being done for the site so earnings are almost non-existent. If you have about 15-20 hours per week to manage the site you will be able to bring the earnings back up where they were before.

I will show the new owner how to earn at least $1 per user with the site and provide 100 hours of design/programming changes.

The starting price is $0.35 per user.

Does WebsiteOutlook account for a site having over 65,000 members? What about the custom design/coding? What about the marketing/business plan to earn at least $1/member plus earnings from ad space? What about earnings?

Relying on scripts to generate an accurate appraisal for any website isn't the best way to go.

Yeah those stats seem a bit off, even if 200 people joined per day you would have more than your current count after 1 year.

I made an account and browsed through for a bit.

Here are my questions:
- Why are several things not working like rankings and the forum?
- Were the prizes awarded 'last week' actually awarded last week?
- How many of the 66,100 users are active?
- You are looking for $66,100, and your revenues are $0 right now, correct? Even with the paid account upgrades still available (a form of monetization)?

Based on what I've seen I think that you have overvalued your project. If you would consider $X,XXX bids I might be interested (after my questions are addressed).

 

To clarify, since most questions by PM I'm getting seem to be the same... the game is still active although it is not maintained. There are still thousands of visitors to the site daily and a few hundred signups per month. I simply haven't managed the site since the end of summer last year. I arranged to have someone take over maintenance of the site around Sept/Oct of last year which just didn't work out.

I am currently using the advertising space on the site to promote my other sites which actually works out very well to get traffic to my other sites. I could put up an affiliate CPM banner and start earning revenue but it's just not part of my business plan for my entire network at this point. I would rather use the available traffic to promote my own sites rather than someone elses.

That is the only reason the earnings information isn't available. It would be unfair of me to make an assumption of the worth since I'm only advertising my own sites. I have based the asking price on what the site has earned before and the strength of the member database due to the information provided for each user.

The rankings script was disabled because members complained that it provided too much information about higher ranked members. Higher ranked members carry more cash in their bases, which made them bigger targets. The forum was suspended because of a bug in the phpBB registration which allowed for spam. Maintaining a forum getting bombarded by spammers was more work than I could handle at the time. I have not yet upgraded the script. It will be in working order for the new owner and it is not part of the 100 hours of developement offered to the new owner for updates/changes to the site.

The base attacks were updated recently but the prizes found are out of date. As I said, the site has not had any maintenance for several months.

- How many of the 66,100 users are active?
I'm not sure how many of the total number of members are active but the site statistics over the last 3 months that I posted on the listing designate that only 29.1% of visitors were "new" visitors. Simply emailing the members offering an incentive to start using the site again would be the most beneficial first move for the new owner.

There is no monetization on the site at all. I use all available ad space to promote private sites instead of using affiliate advertising programs. Payment processing for the paid upgrades you mentioned is turned off. I have based the asking price on what the site has earned before and the strength of the member database due to the information provided for each user.

Knight Rider: Please read the other responses I posted to other peoples questions. The site was not managed for several months at the end of the year last year. The site still receives a few thousand visitors per day, even without any promotion.

Are they fake stats? The alexa is way too low to say 1,287 are playing at a time. I am happy to accept that it was once popular but basically now it is just dead?
