    I also have blog which get cached by google as soon as i post. I thinks its normal and happen with lots of blogs but still give good feeling that my blog is in special group.

    The idea is to have the content updated as frequent as possible and once update is done, it should be followed by ping.

    I don't have a blog, and if I make a new page, and make a ping to the respective page, google will take it in max 30 minutes. :)

    Really good for you considering that your site seem to have a lot of content that are not very unique.. Maybe google is checking out to see when you trip their duplicacy filter. Just run a copyscape.
