Here is the story, I decided to make a proxy site, I posted it on several of my forum signatures, posted it on every proxy site I could find. The first day I was amazed, I got like 500 unique visitors and made about 9 dollars with adsense. The next day it wasnt bad, maybe half the visitors, made about 4 dollars, the next day it was half of that. Im afraid as the days go by its going to get lower and lower. Even still im managing to make a dollar a day.

The thing is, I looked at awstats for referers and #1 on that list was a proxies list site, this is where the majority of visitors were coming from, it seems they show all their "new proxy sites" on the front page when you sign up, and as the days go by you end up getting buried. Im not going to quit so soon, but my question was, how hard would it be to get your google site indexed so you can get maybe 500 visitors a day ?

Also the last question, the domain name is from a previous owner, its now mine, however their sitemap is googled and it comes up when you search, how long would it take for the new sitemap to be listed and for the previous searches to drop ?

    Regards

I suppose you mean how hard its to rank rather than indexed in google. The proxy market is very competitive i believe. But If you begin building links and targeting long keywords you might do so in few months if you are not in sandbox.

    "long keywords"

Thx ill do that, I guess using longer keywords would be better than using shorter, too much to compete with.

Also, is having a domain name the same as your keyword help you with increasing your chances of ranking ? lets say it was "myspace proxies" and your domain was also myspace proxies dot com. just an example.

I find that to be true. If you look at some results for non-competitive keywords you see a holding page indexed just because its the exact domain name.
