I need your advice. I had ***.net (PR=2) for 3 years and now I've got ***.com (PR=0). Of course i would like to start bringing ***.com up to speed but what would be the best way? Upload the same site again on .com? Keep them separate or make a forward from .com to .net or the other way? What did you do in a similar situation or what would you do? Thank you all in advance!
The age of a domain name is very important in SEO. I would keep your .Net going until the .com has aged (~1 year). If you keyword competition has older sites, you may hurt you SEO chances by converting. Other than that, you can "drag and drop" your site under the .com. Verify and check for broken links. If it is considered a new site by Google, there is the "sandbox effect" to worry about. And finally, use a 301 Redirect to make the change over.
Catanic, thank you for your quick and valuable reply. I am worried about the competition so i guess i will have to run both sites independently for 1 year and then forward the .net to the .com. I am not familiar with the "sandbox effect" so i will have to do some reseach on that. Thanks again!
